this made me smile :) as interesting as it is to see children smash gender ideas, it's equally as interesting to me when they naturally embrace them. I spend a great deal of time with a set of boy girl twins that are almost 2yrs. I delight in the quirky things they do and am so weirded out by the things that just naturally interest them. She wants to play breastfeed baby dolls and he is obsessed with "diggers"...that's with equal opportunity toy playing. It's funny. Of course he also likes to wear mardi gras beads and rub lotion on my arms, sooooo
the tucked in cars are adorable tho, I can only imagine that they have little eyelashes on their headlights.
That's cool! I admit I'm very suspicious of things that are considered natural - kids are generally gendered before they're even born ("She's gonna be our little princess", you know, "gonna be a big strong man"), and between them often getting stronger reactions to gendered behavior (whether good or bad), and with on top of that people often noticing gendered behavior more than other things that don't mean anything specific in our societies - I'm not sure it's possible to determine what's natural and what's not. OTOH, I don't know! The "everything is taught by society" approach is also not something I completely subscribe to... DK!
It's so sweet that you imaginnned their lashes! I was impressed that they were apparently sleeping on their backs - makes sense!
