Is there a fun promptmeme going?

Can anybody rec a fic exchange or prompt meme or such going on these days, that is easy going and could appreciate some short, half-assed fills? I can use a distraction, but have nowhere near enough energy to be writing stuff that has to be complex or - beta'ed. Surely someone out there wants some quick, unrefined fluff or such.


I would so love to do a gen thing, but as my best I find the spn_summergen rule list terrifying - participants, you are awesome, brave and awesome again.



Which reminds me - my least favorite fill for spn_masquerade is now my second or third most popular fic on AO3. FANDOM.

Hmmmm I don't know of any that are going on right now, but you could ask for some prompts on a comm? One of the friendly, general ones like spn_bunker or positively_spn or all_spn or something. And say that you're looking for some inspiration, but can't necessarily promise you'll be able to fill everyone's request--because I feel like that would be very stressful! XP

As for the disjuncture between what you liked and what the rest of the world apparently did, god, I know right. XP I know it's nice for anything to be popular, and that we should appreciate that, but sometimes it's kind of galling to sit there and think, well, fandom, that's cool--I'm so glad the thing I don't even like that much that took me like 15 minutes to write has 5 kudos, and the thing that took me much longer that I like better and that I think is better work has 2. COOL. XD

Seriously, the fic of mine that is possibly my best is one of the lowest scored - and the one I did write in maybe half a day, that is just - might be an unintentional promotion of a political cause I am not exactly supporting.... FANDOM?!

Well, the prompt was about Wincest and marriage and fluff, and I was like - no! Cause can we please remember that
that this is a real thing! That there are real people might be so in love and siblings and they can't get married, they are so very far away from all this fluffy heteronormative everything!
And I wrote a short angsty thing about how hard it is to validate a relationship in a world that doesn't recognize it,
but it turned out pretty much "support gay marriage"
and everybody loves it
and it's not exactly that I am against gay marriage, but I refuse to promote it, cause gay men use it to trample the needs and rights of other queer groups, use resources for that instead of for saving lives etc - so....
