Cult tactics are the way into many a fandom! There seem to be quite a few crazy fans on our side too, and worst - people policing and admonishing anyone who's a fan "wrong".
Yeah, Wincest is Best! But seriously - I love love love character development and exploration in my stories, anfd also relationship exploration. So stories the authors declare in advance that they try to avoid that because they want to be respectful towards the actors - that frustrates me a lot. RPF that includes those, can be fantastic (for me). Also, some stuff is just so well written I don't care.
