UGH YES! You have captured so much about what I love about present tense! When it's really well done, present tense is my favorite of the tenses. There's such a delicious urgency. <3 In non-fic writing, I utterly adore really well-done first person POV in the present tense--when it works, it really, really works...but when it's bad, it's horrid. /o/
