I agree, being told lovely stories is very appealing, and a wonderful aspect of podfic. Especially since so many of the audio books out there that aren't podfics are disturbing and - for me - just wrong. I also use it while doing tedious chores and such, it makes thing so much easier. And I definitely can identify with how meaning the small resistance of experiencing something wonderfully queer under the nose of someone bigoted can be. You know, I don't think I know what kinds of smutty slash you listen to these days.,
