I'm so glad you posted this. I LOVE podfic, but it's for far more prosaic reasons -- I do a lot of paperwork, and I think the idea of having someone tell me a story is magical. Podfic means people tell me the sorts of stories I am in love with while I'm doing paperwork, so it's win/win for me. Also, I LOVE listening to smutty slash on my iPod while I'm in Jamaica next to my VERY, VERY homophobic Jamaican coworkers. It's not a meaningful action, but it's a subtle resistance all the time.
