I agree that there's room to problematize this, for many reasons. It's a position that comes with plenty of privilege, and getting all the cool points for being so gay friendly, when it's mostly not something you lose points fo anymore, when you're a musician or such, and also keeping very sure that everyone's clear on you being straight - ugh.
