Yes. I think my biggest issue with rom-coms is pretty much the same issue I have with fairy tales (ignoring all the other obvious issues with fairy tales for a moment): This is the love story everyone should wish for, screw you if you wish for something else and/or opposite to it (like respect and friendship and understanding and having things in common with the person you spend your life with).
