I say it's time for a kink-based friending meme. People often travel across fandom and ship lines for a favorite kink. Talking about kinks is such a fun thing to do. Kinks can be so meaningful, deep, can be fun and simple, can bring so much joy. Why not friend based on that?

I hardly know anybody on LJ (though some of the people I know, I care a lot about).
So unless you spread the word, it's just gonna be me and my kinks. Which isn't that bad, actually. Tell everyone! Copy and paste the code in the box under one of the banners to your journal to spread the word. Below are some banners I made. If anybody feels like making better, more inclusive ones (more fandoms, more kinks, more sorts of people), that'd be cool, let me know and I'll add them to this post.

ETA: Hey, I'm having a thought. I'm really enjoying the conversations here. I feel like opening a kink discussion group. For fun discussion of stuff we like, are curious about, getting inspired by other people's kinks, just all sorts of that.
Perhaps open posting as well as having a specific topic or question to play with every week. Is anyone interested?

General stuff you'd like to share (name, location): Generally not until I get to know someone pretty well. I'm pretty secretive about my internet life :)
Other places you hang out (DW, Tumblr etc): I have a fic journal on LJ under

dishonestdreams and, in theory I have a DW account in the same name, but I got confused by how to post on it and it's largely sitting inactive. I have an AO3 account but other than that, nothing.
Activity in fandom? I lurk a lot and generally hang around the peripheries of fandom. I tend to be bad at commenting and slow at replying (the curse of a busy life - although I do always reply eventually) but I do try my best. Oh and, obviously, I write :)

Fandoms Supernatural, Supernatural RPF, Bandom, Hawaii Five-0, Firefly, Stargate Universe, Sherlock, Grimm, True Blood, Suits, Prison Break. Some I have written in, some I have only read so far (there are probably more than that as well but that's what I can think of off the top of my head)
Ships/gen Any/All :D I'll try most any pariing at least once and largely, it's more about whether the characters are well portrayed for me - if I can believe in the relationship, I don't really mind who is in it. If the plot catches me, gen is all good as well.
General interests Hiking (I post about this a lot), music and gigging, social policy, my tv shows. Work and university also dominate a lot of my time but I try not to bore people with those too often.

Some favorite kinks: Um, powerplay, size disparity, bondage, dirty talk, orgasm delay/denial. Consent issues are a big thing for me as well - I write them a lot, as I often write dark or fucked up versions of characters, and obviously at that point consent issues abound. Those are some of my favourites; I'm trying to think if there's anything I can't/haven't got into at some point...and largely coming up blank.
Non-sexual kinks: Characters gone darkside (which can be sexual or not), pet names/nicknames, oral fixation (smoking, gum, drinking - anything that draws attention to people's mouths is gooooooood)
Kink-related LJ activity you like: Discussion is good, writing is good, reading is good, I wish I could draw (but am always up for discussion of interesting pics), not a big fan of podficcing (although all power to those that do it)
Guilty (or prideful) pleasure: That stuff up there? I'm not sure what to put in here :D

What's usually on your journal? Rambly update posts that appear at undetermined intervals and contain some mish-mash of discussion around things I have been doing and shows I have been watching, as well as the occasional graphics and memes
What do you look for in an LJ friend? Maturity? Fandom wank is one of the reasons I lurk.
Anything you'd like to add? I'm in the UK and as am I technofail, I don't DL my show, which means I'm always behind. On that point, spoilers outside of a cut make me cry. If your journal is spoilertastic in ways that I can't avoid, it's just not going to work out between us :)

oh, heck yeah oral fixation!

*nodnodnod* There is no bad to be had in an oral fixation. Plus, you can get your hit in the oddest and most innocuous of places (like, as I mentioned, the whole drinking/chewing/smoking thing)

i really love it when someone just holds something with their mouth, like a pen or keys or whatever needs to be held somehow while their hands are busy. gha. lol.

I can't help it; it's an obsession. Sometimes I try to write light, fluffy things but it never works as well and many of those attempted ficlets languish in the development hell known as my wip folder. It's a sad state of affairs, but possibly I should just stick to writing what I like to.
