My thoughts, were that since Show did reference suicide, it was fresh on his mind, and he brought it up so that anyone dealing with thoughts of self-harm didn't get thrown under the bus, especially when they've possibly just opened up about their struggles.

This is the sweetest interpretation ever <3 <3 <3 <3

I doubt it, but it's so sweet I kinda just want to choose to believe it.
